  1. How long after I order does my package go out? Most of our styles are made to order. Which means we only make them, once we receive the order. We aim to make and send out each piece no later than 20 working days days after the order is placed. Shipping usually takes 3 days in the UK and up to 7 days outside of the UK. Which means your order will be with you up to 4-6 weeks from ordering. Our ready to ship pieces are sent out on a shipping day after the order is placed. We ship out packages on Wednesdays and Fridays so if you order a ready to ship item, it will be sent out on the next closest shipping day. If your order contains both made to order and ready to ship items, we will wait and send the entire order out when the made to order items are completed, unless otherwise requested.   3. What about returns? We work hard to make great quality, well fitted clothing. Items are made specifically for you when you order (with modifications available on request (see our shipping and returns page for more information). Our products undergo extensive quality checks at each stage. We do our utmost to ensure that every item is perfect for the customer. As such we do not offer refunds on made to order items. We may consider alterations to your item in rare circumstances. And we may also consider a return for store credits. Please contact us if there is a problem or you need to send a package to us. We may offer a refund on ready to ship items as long as the item is returned unworn in it’s original packaging with all tags intact. In case of returns, the customer is responsible for shipping.   4. How do I know what size to order? Sizes on our website are UK women’s sizes. Please take a look at our size chart lower on this page to see the conversions and what size you should order. If you're an in-between sizes, please size up as most of our pieces are made with non-stretch fabric and boning. Alternatively, for our made to order pieces, you can send in your measurements and the piece will be custom cut and fit to your body. Email us before placing your order if you want custom sizing (modebytaylor@gmail.com). The sizes of the models photographed in our pieces is always mentioned in the product description

  5. Do you offer different lengths or details in your pieces? We don’t usually offer our designs in multiple lengths or details. However, for made to order items, we can offer customisations, like a shorter or longer length, or a different colour at no extra cost.   6. How often do you restock? We operate a part made to order, part small batch production model. Half of our pieces are made to order and the other half are ready made in very small quantities. With our made to order pieces, we buy a certain amount of fabric, and only cut and sew when an order is placed. When we run out of the fabric, we may order more fabric if there is a demand for that piece, so we can continue to fill orders for that piece. Otherwise we phase out that product. In this case, there will be no restock but if you contact us directly via email, we may be able to custom make the style for you in a different fabric. With our ready made pieces, we only produce a small initial run of no more than 50 units per style. When the original run sells out, we will do a second run or restock only if there’s demand. After a second restock, we will most likely phase out the style. If an item is going to be restocked, it’ll appear onite as either “pre-order only” or “waitlisted” in which case you can sign up to the waitlist to be notified when a restock is happening. We don’t have a timeline for possible restocks so yoll just have to stay tuned or sign up to the mailing list to be informed

  7. Do you have a store where I can try your pieces on? We do not currently have a physical location but we are working on expanding our studio space to welcome guests starting from early 2026. When our studio renovation is done, we will be able to welcome clients and guests for fittings and try ons in our South Wales based studio space.

  8. What payment methods do you accept? Debit and credit cards, Google Pay, Paypal, Klarna

  9. When do you hold sales? We don’t hold sales. Between being part made to order and holding only small batches of ready made pieces, we don’t have excess stock to get rid off. We do however offer discount codes to members of our community at regular intervals. We will share discount codes with our mailing list members or our Instagram and Tiktok communities. Join us there so you’ll know when we next have a discount code live.

  10. I made a mistake, how do I cancel my order? Orders can be cancelled within 24 hours by emailing us at modebytaylor@gmail.com. If you order a made to order item, the order cannot be cancelled once we begin cutting your order, which usually happens within 24-48 hours of your order being received. If we recieve your cancellation request before your order is cut (for made to order items) or tagged and packed (for ready made items), we are happy to cancel and offer a refund. Please note your refund may take a few business daysreturn to your account due to banking and Squarespace payment systems

  11. Where does Mode by Taylor stand on the sustainability question?

    As a brand we want to be transparent with our customers. We care about the world we live in and issues like climate change. And each day, we are trying to do our part to lessen the negative contributions that the fashion industry is making to the environment. Here's what we're doing so far to become a more sustainable brand.

    1) we use a mixture of deadstock, and sustainably produced fabrics as well as durable, made to last fabrics.

    2) we believe in ethical manufacturing. Our garments are currently handmade by AJ and a very small group of freelance seamstresses she works with from time to time who are paid above minimum wage and work under very clean healthy circumstances. Our planned production facility which is scheduled to open in 2024-2025 will help increase our producing capabilities using systems and processes that are environmentally friendly.

    3) We buy and hold only enough fabric to make a few pieces of each style at a time. We only order more fabric if there is demand for a piece after the original lot has run out This system of production means we never have excess inventory that we need to dispose of

    4) Most of our pieces are made to order, so we only make as much as our customers have ordered and therefore we have no extra pieces or wasted inventory. (P.s. this is also why we don't do a lot of sales and discounting. Because we don't have extra items to reduce to clear.) Our ready to ship items are made in small batches. We don’t make more than 50 pieces of any style and will only make more if there is a demand and people sign up to the waitlist for an item.

    5) we are working on making sure all our packaging is made from recyclable materials. Our current mailing bags are cotton tote or drawstring bags, handmade in our studio which our clients and customers can keep and reuse. And our hang tags and labels are currently made with recycled materials.

    6) we make clothes that you will love and want to wear over and over and over again.

    We're not there yet but we're working on getting better everyday.
